So what are the ships in this fleet you may ask? Well let me show you. What does God need with a Starship?! So all the races I use are from known races like Andorian, Bajoran, Benzite, Betazed, Bolian, Caitian, Deltan, Denobulan, El Aurian, Elaysian, Terran, Trill, Vulcan, Xindi, Zaldon, Etc.
You don't need your characters to be Q or some other new race that has all the powers of the universe. I'm a firm believer that if your character is "better than the rest" you passed the Mary/Gary Sue line as you entered the room. So all the crews come from the known races attached to Starfleet. Some many cool races and background to explore. The same goes for the crews of each ship. There are so many great ships in Star Trek, why not use the ones that are there. I was so tired of seeing these Specialty Ship people did that were one of a kind and better than every other slice of bread in Starfleet. Instead I put together a fleet of six ships from the known Star Trek universe save one. But two handle this mission I didn't want one lone ship as this has been done with Voyager. Under orders from Starfleet the Gamma Fleet is to continue their operations working with Odo and his Dominion forces. While communications are still possible, travel back to the Alpha Quadrant is not. The fleet are able to stop the destruction of the wormhole, but enough damage is done the the wormhole will remained seal while the Silithium clears itself naturally. Once the fleet arrives though they find the the forces of the Dominion have entered into a civil war, with there first plan of action to destroy the Bajoran wormhole with a Silithium infused warhead. Odo and the Dominion have asked Starfleet to come a help explore the Gamma Quadrant as the rest of the founders beside himself and one other have gone missing since they discovered there god dead.
The idea is that in wake of everything that has gone on in the Star Trek Universe as of late, Starfleet has been mainly tasking with repairing everything left behind in the wake of the Borg's destructive path. This has been my big Star Trek project I've been working on for over a year now off and on. So much so I really been re-inspired again. Recently many people have helped with my Star Trek: Gamma Fleet Operations project.
