I ran to the cazadors up north from goodsprings with this guy at level 2 and killed all of them with. I'm gonna try the same thing with trigger discipline and see what happens. Still though, even with guns under 50 I remember being able to make such shots much easier with my non fast shot character. My gun skill is only 50 and the gun is fully repaired. This was close to mid range, mostly close though. I was wondering if the game was calculating a miss but I guess it's just a really bad spread. Too often though, the bullets didn't hit. Sometimes they would hit the target on the first shot, giving me the one hit sneak kill I was going for. Crosshairs dead on and yet many shots apparently missing. I got a 9mm with a scope and I was trying to sneak kill some geckos. I recently played a little with a fast shot+kamikaze character. Being able to unload my pistol in one round was tops. I loved using fast shot in the old games. Jose ordaz Posts: 3552 Joined: Mon 10:14 pm Question is what you prefer to use on crowds. More spread doesn't matter at all there and more bullets per second increases DPS considerably allowing to spit out far more damage than with Trigger Discipline. On the other hand, all that can be applied in reverse to SMGs and machine guns. Of course you can still use shotguns as semi-melee weapons but that kind of defeats their purpose which is crowd control (hence the name of Riot.).

Have 100 skill, it doesn't matter, you still are going to mess up some easy shots on regular basis. Multiplas with Trigger Discipline takes two less shots to drop the Deathclaw Daddy than with Fast Shot. Meaning it's not as fast as theory paints it - you might get 2 extra shots per each 10 fired, but one or two of those shots you will most likely miss wasting ammo, AP and letting enemy get closer. Mid-range you will be missing 1 out of 10 shots, especially in VATS and even up close you sometimes screw up an easy one. There is 40% difference in shotgun spread between those two! Big Boomer has spread 4 with Trigger Discipline and almost 8 with Fast Shot.Īlso, Fast Shot accuracy penalties can never be fully removed, even at sneak-sniping you will often miss via bigger spread despite having crosshair right on the target (never happens with Trigged Discipline). Shotgun spread is so big it actually matters quite a lot when you take Fast Shot for them compared to Trigger Discipline. Not to mention Dinner Bell which can be sniped with like a Revolver. You can use it at mid-range there (or even long at times).
